Bull market is when ioenstvrs are betting on stocks going up, and they DO go up and people make money.Bear market is when the market is going down, and people have to make money by selling short which is when you sell a stock before you buy it, expecting it to go down.Yes, you can sell before you buy and make money when a stock goes down. But the risk is that if the stock goes up, you lose money and there’s no limit to how far up it can go.At least with the bear market, all you can lose is your investment if the stock drops to zero.But that’s not really the question, is it?Bull market = rising market and DOW averageBear market = fallilng marketA bullish person is one who expects values to increase and invests accordingly.
