Some analysts suggest that General Motors is not in danger of filing for bankruptcy because its suppliers are still in good shape, implying that GM is still paying them in a timely fashion. However, that’s clearly not the case anymore based on this TheDeal.com article. The report suggests that along with Tower Automotive and Meridian Automotive, which filed for bankruptcy earlier this year, Collins & Aikman, Delphi and Visteon are all potential Chapter 11 candidates. While these companies are failing because of their own heavy debt loads, its another sign that GM and Ford are likely to go bankrupt – unless they can be saved by a white knight.
